About Us
Raging Rooster Press
is a project of
New Day Writing Co-op.
We plan to serve a shifting community of artists and writers from our roost in Chicago.
Founded in 2026, our mission is to provide a space to publish boldy unconventional works with unapologetic energy.
Ben Beard is our current publisher. You can read more about Ben's vision on the Publisher's Notes Page. More info on Ben's writing can be found at bwbeard.com.
While we are not yet accepting new manuscript submissions, we hope to in the near future.
We hope you'll join us in supporting loud literature by buying a book from our shop.
Our titles, can also be ordered from your local independent bookstore.
ORIGIN OF OUR NAME. Raging Rooster Press had a previous incarnation which included the classic memoir Norwegian Would by our friend Ron Larsen. Ron has graciously lent us use of the Raging Rooster name for which we are very grateful. Otherwise we would have had to steal it. You can still order Ron's book from siglarsen@charter.net, or ask him to tell you about that fateful day with the giant rooster and the little children.
